Are you wondering where to install your dehumidifier? The In Wall or On Wall dehumidifier should be installed in a central location of the home. If possible, place it below (or near) an HVAC return air grill, which will help distribute the treated air throughout the home more efficiently and will help with getting rid of mold.

2″ x 6″ In Wall Fully Recessed Installation

The IW25 In Wall Dehumidifier installs completely recessed between interior studs and a 2″ x 6″ wall. Only one side of the wall will need to be cut for the rough opening, and the 5.75″ deep unit fits cleanly inside. This is ideal for new construction and existing applications with 2″ x 6″ wall framing.

2″ x 4″ In Wall Fully Recessed Installation

The IW25 In Wall Dehumidifier fully recesses through a 2″ x 4″ wall. Two sides of the wall will need to be cut for the rough opening with a 1.75″ back overhang. The dehumidifier includes a fully enclosed and finished paintable back side for an attractive presentation. Ideal for new construction, retro, or renovation with a 2″ x 4″ wall framing when a recessed installation is preferred.

2″ x 4″ In Wall Partially Recessed Installation

The IW25 In Wall Dehumidifier can be semi-recessed into the front of a 2″ x 4″ wall when full recession is not ideal. The optional 2.2″ deep Exterior Sleeve with paintable glossy finish provides a clean bump-out look, and it includes punch-out holes on the side and bottom for versatile drain hose and power routing. Only one side of the wall will need to be cut for the rough opening. This application is ideal for a 2″ x 4″ wall installation with limited space to fully recess the unit.

The IW25 On Wall Dehumidifier hangs directly on any hard surface, including wood, tile, cement, brick or stone. The drain and electrical can be routed through alternate punch-out holes in the frame – no cuts are needed to install directly on the wall. This application is ideal for existing properties, and provides opportunities for creative installations, like cabinets, kitchen islands and basements.

IW25 Condensate Pump

When gravity draining is not an option, the IW25 can be supplemented with an optional Condensate Pump that is fully integrated inside the unit. The pump is capable of pushing moisture 10′ horizontally or 15′ vertically without a downhill slope.

Installation that allows for the IW25 dehumidifier to be flush against the wall is ideal. The back of the fixed dehumidifier is easily accessed through HVAC return, the unit will drain directly into the existing plumbing and outlet. Great option for apartments and is centrally located.

The Surface Mount installation conceals unit to help blend into surroundings. Surface mount allows unit to be attached directly to wall, with drain and power sharing sources of nearby appliances.

Planning for supplemental dehumidification during pre-construction allows for seamless installation. Framework, plumbing and electric can be pre-determined. Drain hose only needs a small incline to ensure proper drainage.

Dehumidification placement in a central location is most beneficial in larger spaces when air circulation is minimal. A custom mount was created to install unit within a kitchen island. The tankless dehumidifier will use a condensate pump for continuous draining and will share plumbing with dishwasher, (not seen in picture and will be placed directly in front of condensate pump).
